One said he was a “picture of evil” but a lot of people – 24 out of the 30 I spoke to – have been positive. With a frightening capacity for extreme violence, Tyneside protection hardman Viv Graham struck fear into the hearts of his enemies, yet his benevolence to local charities and schemes to keep kids away from drugs and crime was well known. Every precious dream and vision - Underneath the stars, yes, you climbed on the ladder, With the wind in your sails. I’ve spoken to people who knew him as a child and he would often be seen walking around his estate late on a school night because he never wanted to go home. Viv Graham and Lee Duffy led parallel lives as pub and club enforcers, raging their gangland turf wars with a fierce frenzy of brutality and unremitting cruelty.Jamie added: “I grew up in Middlesbrough and heard of Lee Duffy when I was eight and he died when I was 11. It is important that we continue to promote these adverts as our local businesses need as much support as possible during these challenging times. But according to a new book he was once the victim - “severely bullied” - and suffering at the hands of his heavy drinking father. Wraps clean, rubs to fore-edge corners, laminate film coming away slightly from back cover, otherwise a nice clean copy.

This book has had me up late night reading and knackered for work but I tell you what it was worth it. Containing many first hand and previously unheard accounts from some of Duffy's closest friends and associates, this book will finally confirm who the man was and what he was really all about. As well as delving into the criminal underworld, the book gives an account of what life was like in Teesside in the early nineties.

From the author of the best-selling Paul Sykes books Unfinished Agony and Further Agony Jamie Boyle. Some hate him and say he was an absolute monster, others have cried in front of me and said they still miss him so much, that he had a good heart and was so caring. A former boxer and bouncer from South Bank , Lee Duffy died in 1991 after being stabbed during a street brawl in Marton Road, Middlesbrough. I like the fact that jamie has put alot of hard into making sure there's no bullshit in this book and that the people he interviewed were people who knew him the closest, lees family , work mates , friends and enemies are in this book and I feel that this was the only way you could get a full picture of who lee was and how he lived I only hope now they make a movie about this young lad from Teesside who was just a kid and done so much in his short 26 years. No stone will be left unturned and this book will not shy away from controversy, but will aim to provide an unbiased and balanced view on the ‘Boro icon .
